Privacy Policy

The short version: Coastline does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data outside your device. We have no servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no way to see your information. Your financial data belongs entirely to you.
What data Coastline stores
Coastline stores your financial planning data — including profile information, account balances, income sources, expenses, plans, and calculation results — in a local database on your iPhone. This data is created by you within the app and is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
What data Coastline does not collect
Coastline does not collect any personal information. Specifically:
We do not collect names, email addresses, or contact information. We do not collect financial account numbers, login credentials, or bank information. We do not collect usage analytics, behavioral data, or interaction metrics. We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data. We do not use cookies, pixels, fingerprinting, or any other tracking technology.
Network access
Coastline makes zero network connections. The app operates entirely offline. All calculations, projections, and simulations run locally on your device. No data is ever transmitted to any server, including ours.
Third-party services
Coastline does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or data collection services. The app has zero external dependencies beyond Apple's own frameworks.
Apple App Store
If you purchase a Coastline subscription, Apple processes the transaction through the App Store. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction. Coastline does not receive your payment information — only a receipt confirming your subscription status, which is verified locally on your device via Apple's StoreKit framework.
Data export
Coastline allows you to export your data as a JSON file. When you export, the file is created locally on your device and shared through Apple's standard share sheet. Coastline does not receive a copy of this export. Where the file goes after you share it is governed by the privacy policies of whichever service you choose to share it with (e.g., iCloud Drive, email, AirDrop).
Data deletion
You can delete all your data at any time by deleting the Coastline app from your device. Since your data is stored only on your device, deleting the app permanently removes all of your financial planning data. There is no server-side data to request deletion of.
Children's privacy
Coastline is a financial planning tool designed for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Since the app collects no information from anyone, this is inherently satisfied.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and note the changes. If we ever begin collecting data — which would represent a fundamental change to the app — we will notify users through the app before any collection begins.
